JLR sales director steps down as marketing division is restructured

Felix Bräutigam

Jaguar Land Rover has restructured its marketing, sales and service activities in a move which has seen the departure of Group Sales Director, Andy Goss.

Mr Goss joined the company from Porsche in 2011, specifically to lead JLR’s North American operations. He was promoted to his current position on the board in 2013.

His tenure coincided with the company achieving record sales.

In a statement, JLR said the marketing, sales and service activities would now fall under the responsibility of current Chief Marketing Officer, Felix Bräutigam.

Mr Goss will leave the company at the end of March to pursue in JLR’s words “new challenges in the automotive business”.

In turn, Mr Bräutigam will take up the expanded role of Chief Commercial Officer on April 1, where he will be responsible for leading global marketing, product planning, customer relationship management, sales, customer service, network development as well as the worldwide sales regions.

It marks a rapid promotion for Mr Bräutigam, who only joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer on January 1 this year.

In his expanded role he will report directly to JLR CEO, Ralf Speth.

Dr Speth said: “Felix Bräutigam is a highly experienced and effective leader and will play a crucial role in developing the Jaguar and Land Rover brands globally as we aim for profitable, sustainable growth, despite challenging conditions in some key markets.

“Andy Goss has led the sales organisation during an unprecedented period of growth. He has spearheaded record sales and transformed our global retailer network. I would like to personally thank him for his dedication to our two great brands and wish him all the best with the next phase of his career.”
