A Birmingham smart home solutions provider has made a non-exclusive agreement deal with retailer John Lewis to stock its devices in the department store and online.

Lightwave’s products will go on sale online and in stores from the end of the month.

The company, who made a revenue of £3m last year, offers smart lighting, heating and power solutions for the home using smartphone apps.

It has signed distribution agreements with technology distributor Exertis, and West Coast, which supplies technology brands including Apple, to retailers. It will also continue to distribute to other retailers across the UK through its existing deal with ERA Home Security Ltd.

It has also made deals with City Electrical Factors, the UK’s largest electrical wholesaler, Edmundson Electrical, Stearn Electric Co and YESSS Electrical for the UK wholesale and electrical contractor markets.

Andrew Pearson, chief executive of Lightwave, said: “We entered 2018 with an intent to add further partners that complement and extend our distribution capability.  This new set of contracts means we have achieved this and put in place relationships with distributors whose Europe-wide operations will also aid us in launching our international device range later this year.”
