Construction company builds relationships from new One Snowhill base

Birmingham’s continuing city centre property boom has attracted construction company Willmott Dixon to open an office at One Snowhill.

The company has operated throughout the Midlands from its Coleshill base but has now decided to create a base in Colmore Business District.

Willmott Dixon has taken 4,000 sq ft on a nine-year lease at One Snowhill where it will have space for up to 40 staff when it moves in later this year. It joins law firm DWF on the first floor, while KPMG and Barclays occupy most of the 260,000 sq ft building.

There is now just a ground floor retail unit and some first floor office space available.

Nick Gibb, deputy managing director, Willmott Dixon, said: “The office at One Snowhill will provide us with an operational space in the heart of Birmingham, close to many of our partners, suppliers and customers.

“We had a clear vision for the functions and components of this office and so had very specific criteria.”

Willmott Dixon has been involved in the construction of Birmingham City University’s £150m city centre campus at Eastside and the £18m refurbishment of The Lewis Building.

Willmott Dixon was advised by CBRE and landlord Union Investment Real Estate was represented by Savills.

Liz Bailey, senior surveyor in the office agency team at CBRE in Birmingham, added: “There is a real buzz and hive of activity in Birmingham and businesses want to be part of it. It’s great that a company of Willmott Dixon’s calibre will be in the city centre.”
