Property developers take on five-day charity cycle

Two cyclists from Birmingham-based property developers Henry Davidson Developments will cycle across Europe as part of a 1,800km, three-week charity cycling challenge.

Scott Davidson and Damian Middleton will cycle across alongside up to 200 supporters and celebrities as part of the Dallaglio RugbyWorks Cycle Slam.

The Dallaglio Cycle Slam raises funds for RugbyWorks, a sports-based programme that uses rugby to engage teenagers who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

The challenge is split into three stages of five days’ cycling, where up to 30 core riders complete the whole three-week challenge alongside World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio. They will cycle through the French and Swiss Alps, Italian lakes, Slovenia and Croatia, where the challenge ends in June 2018.

Davidson, Henry Davidson Developments’ managing director, and associate director Middleton, will tackle the 566km leg from the city of Udine in Italy, to Split in Croatia, in a journey that will take five days to complete.

Davidson said: “We’re very proud to join Lawrence and his team on this fantastic event to support RugbyWorks. It will be my fourth time at the Dallaglio Slam and Damian’s second, so we’re hoping that experience will see us through.

“We’re hoping to raise a total of at least £6,000 for the charity, which will help two young people to complete the RugbyWorks programme and have a chance of a much better future.”
