Manufacturer secures £1m project at MACH

A Black Country manufacturer has signalled its intentions for future growth by placing a major order at MACH 2018 today.

Clamason Industries, which produces precision metal components and assemblies, has finalised a £1m project investment with Bruderer UK to secure its largest ever press that will be used to target up to £6m of new orders.

The specialist supplier to the automotive, medical and building products sectors underwent a management buyout in 2016. Since then it has created 20 jobs, had annual growth of 10% and is forecasting £30m sales across its operations in the UK and Slovakia this year.

Ian Davies, sales director at Kingswinford-based Clamason Industries, said: “We have worked with Bruderer UK for more than 20 years and have been extremely impressed with the quality of the machines it provides and the service/maintenance packages it delivers.

“A number of conversations with potential customers had identified the need for a larger and faster press than the ones we already possessed, so we decided that MACH 2018 was the perfect opportunity to place the order.”

MACH is the major event for advanced engineering and manufacturing, held every two years at the NEC, Birmingham. The 2016 exhibition attracted more than 25,000 visitors across its five days.

Bruderer is marking its 50th birthday in the UK, and 75th in its Switzerland home, and this deal puts it on the way to passing £5m turnover for the first time.

UK managing director Adrian Haller said: “We knew we were close to a deal, but never expected to secure it at the event, so this is an extra special birthday present for us.”
