Construction firm to oversee rocket testing facility

West Midlands’ professional construction consultancy, Feasibility Limited, will provide project management and quantity surveying services for a rocket testing facility site in Aylesbury.

The company has been appointed by Rockspring Hanover Property Unit Trust to oversee the project at Reaction Engines’ Test Facility Assembly Building at Westcott Venture Park.

The design and construction project will include site-clearance works, cut and fill, ground improvement works, concrete plinths and foundations, as well as roads and hardstandings, and noise and protection bund to the perimeter of the test facility, with ducted links to the adjacent assembly building.

The finished project will house Reaction Engines’ equipment.

Feasibility is also involved in the design and construction of a single industrial building, which is being constructed to support the facility.

Feasibility’s Neale Flavell said, “This is a very exciting project and we’re proud to be doing our bit for improving research and testing for future space propulsion. The work is progressing well and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how the facility impacts space exploration over the coming years.”
