Manor hotel to upgrade and create 25 jobs

A Redditch hotel is to create 25 jobs after receiving financial backing for its plans to completely refurbish the 97-year-old property.

The Southcrest Manor Hotel is upgrading its facilities after receiving a £1m loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

“Our refurbishment programme is part of our plan to become the best hotel destination in Redditch,” said Chris Osborne, general manager at Southcrest Manor Hotel.

“Providing outstanding guest experience is something we’re passionate about and this latest investment will help us to keep making our facilities better and better.”

The hotel, which is set in 10 acres and specialises in weddings and events, is to revamp its 48 bathrooms, the parking area, gardens and corridors.

Over the next year, a new outdoor hot tub area, leisure and beauty facilities, and refurbishment of the hotel’s garden and conservatory will also be introduced.

Paul Warrington, regional director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Despite slower growth rates predicted this year, the hospitality sector is still buoyant and businesses like Southcrest Manor Hotel are reaping the benefits of this.”
