Nichols puts vim, and £4.5m, into manufacturing site

Nichols, the company that invented Vimto, has invested £4.5m in its site in Ross-on-Wye.

The site, which employs 42 people, manufactures frozen and post-mix solutions for its own products and licensed products including Coca-Cola and Britvic, .

Vimto Out of Home contributes 28% of Nichols’ £130m annual sales.

Nichols’ supply chain director Andy Johnson said: “We have increased capacity for new business and growth as a result of the recent investment in our technology and people.”

Its investment is focused on improved technology, including end-of-line automation, a labelling solution, and sugar pump automation.

Nichols also plans to bring production all under one roof and is planning to add a fifth production line at Vimto Ross.
