Jaguar Land Rover announces new director of manufacturing

Jaguar Land Rover has this morning announced a new director of manufacturing.

Grant McPherson, currently director of quality and automotive safety, will take up the role on July 1, reporting to CEO Prof Dr Ralf Speth.

He will be responsible for more than 20,000 people working across the company’s UK and global manufacturing operations and logistics teams.

McPherson replaces Wolfgang Stadler, who has announced his intention to retire at the end of June, having joining the business from BMW in 2013.

Speth said: “I would like to welcome Grant McPherson to the Jaguar Land Rover board of management as our new executive director of manufacturing. He will oversee the ongoing investment into our UK and global manufacturing, transforming our plants to enable Jaguar Land Rover’s exciting electrified future.

“Grant’s appointment brings further strength and depth to our leadership team as we look to execute the next phase of our growth and efficiency plan.

“I would like to thank Wolfgang for his dedication and support during recent years. We wish him a long and happy retirement.”

McPherson joined Jaguar Land Rover in 2011 as operations director, Castle Bromwich, and has been in his current role since 2013.

Prior to joining, he held a number of positions at Honda.
