Serviced office provider doubles Birmingham space

Serviced office provider iHub is to double the amount of space it has in Birmingham city centre after rapidly filling up this spring.

It launched in March at Colmore Gate, having taken over the fourth floor, and was fully let within a month.

iHub has now agreed a 10-year deal for the building’s third floor at £25 per sq ft and has 70% of the 18,400 sq ft space pre-let.

It is the latest deal by a serviced office provider and comes days after BE Offices took up all of the office space at Somerset House in the city centre. BE signed a 15-year deal for 36,300 sq ft in the art deco building on Temple Street.

The iHub deal was done by Birmingham-based commercial property agency BOSS and its managing director, Marcus Hayes, is “expecting similar success for the third floor of Colmore Gate”.

He added: “This is further proof of the continued growth of the flexible office market outside London. While competition increases, the best quality products in this market will always let well. It has been a pleasure working with Emma and the iHub team throughout this journey.”

Emma Johnston, general manager at iHub, said: “Our original space on the fourth floor set a new benchmark in the Birmingham flexible office market and let up in record time.

“We are confident that the third floor will be even more successful and have some really creative ideas to enhance the work environment further.”

George Jennings from GVA acted for the landlord AVIVA.
