Willmott Dixon has invested £400,000 in its new Birmingham city centre offices at One Snowhill.

The company’s headquarters will remain at its Coleshill office, but 32 staff will relocate to the city centre where it has taken a 10-year lease for 4,000 sq ft.

The office has been specially set up to encourage a collaborative style of working between staff and clients, and also features a digital design room which houses the latest in Building Information Modelling (BIM).

BIM is a model-based technology which improves the whole planning, design, construction and infrastructure management process, improving efficiency and offering a better service to clients.

Deputy managing director Nick Gibb believes that BIM offers a competitive advantage to Willmott Dixon.

He said: “Technology, and the use of BIM in particular, has become such a vital element for us throughout the construction process.

“Having a dedicated BIM space was a key requirement for this office as it allows our teams, partners and customers to fully appreciate a building’s design and garner a greater understanding of the built environment.”

Willmott Dixon is currently undertaking £90m of work in the region, including the Green Heart project at Birmingham University.
