Expanding vet business opens sixth site

Shire Vets have been given permission from Stafford Council to open their sixth premises in the county.

Shire Vets will spend £250,00 fitting out their new facility on Stafford Technology Park which will open later this summer.

It will comprise three consultation rooms and two theatres and will cater for small animals as a general practice surgery.

With existing facilities in Stoke, Eccleshall, Gnosall, Loggerheads and Stone, Shire cater for pets, farm animals and equine clients across Staffordshire.

Jess Hulme, clinical director at Shire Vets, said: “This is something we have wanted to do for a long time so we are naturally delighted we’ve been given the go-ahead. We already have a well established base of clients in Stafford so it will be much easier to serve them all once the new practice opens its doors.”

Shire Vets are part of the Linnaeus Group, a nationwide partnership of Vet businesses which is investing £10m across its practices.

Linnaeus is based in Solihull and are building towards becoming the UK’s leading veterinary group.

This investment supports technical innovations, professional recruitment as well as practice extensions.

Hulme added: ” We have been serving the Staffordshire community and the surrounding counties for than 70 years and these exciting plans are a continuation of that. We are delighted to be continually investing in the local community as we continue to grow.”
