£5m available for imaginative property proposal

Paul Bassi, chief executive, Real Estate Investors

Real Estate Investors (REI), the Birmingham-based quoted property company, is offering up to £5m in equity to a West Midlands developer, investor or entrepreneur whose idea most deserves funding.

Applicants for the equity are being asked to send a one-page synopsis of why their idea is a winner into REI, whose panel of experts will review the applications, and then make a final decision by September this year.

REI chief executive Paul Bassi, who won TheBusinessDesk.com’s Ambassador award at the 2018 Business Masters, said: ” We are open minded as to ideas. They could be early finance stage for property development or investment , where the business has the land or property but does not have the finance to complete the project. It could be a potentially successful retail, residential, industrial or office idea.”

REI manages its own portfolio of assets of 1,5m sq ft of commercial property and has 100 years of experience in the Midlands property market, its business aims is to deliver capital growth and income generation from its assets to support a ‘progressive dividend policy.”

REI wants applicants to submit their one-page synopsis by July 31.
