Scottish developer makes £1.65m Walsall purchase

Buccleuch Property, an Edinburgh based property business, has bought two industrial warehouse units in Walsall. The two units comprise 23,973 sq ft and 28,169 sq ft and are located 1.3 miles from the centre of Walsall, near junction 6 of the M6. Each unit has been extensively refurbished, and come with ancillary offices and car parking. They are expected to be ready for occupation by July.

The deal was handled by the property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton of Birmingham (LSH), whose industrial and logistics director, Matthew Tilt said: ” We are delighted to be able to complete the purchase on behalf of Buccleuch Property and it is great to see that the refurbishment programme is well advanced. The location of these units provides excellent connectivity via the Midlands motorway network, which will be a real benefit for potential occupiers. Once refurbsihed, they will provide an excellent platform for businesses to grow and expand their operations in the West Midlands. We are anticipating a lot of interest in these units given the lack of competition in the immediate area and expect them to be occupied very soon after they have been refurbished.”

Paul Jarvis, asset management director at Buccleuch Property commented: ” The units represent a good opportunity for us due to the excellent location and current operational demand in the industrial sector. We are pleased with the progress of the refurbishment, and the level of occupational interest shown to date has been encouraging.”

Buccleuch has offices in London and Edinburgh, with a portfolio of c £250m throughout the UK and a pipeline of development sites of 2.5m sq ft. Its strategic land portfolio is in the region of 12,000 residential units.
