LoveBrum appoints first executive director

Paul Mitchell

LoveBrum, the Birmingham charity that was established in 2015 to support organisations and good causes across the city, has appointed its first executive director to oversee the next phase of its growth.

Paul Mitchell has joined LoveBrum after it secured £250,000 of National Lottery funding from the Big Lottery Fund. The money will enable the charity to widen its reach and work with more causes in the city.

He will work alongside its Board of Trustees to drive the charity forward.

LoveBrum’s co-founder and trustee PJ Ellis, said: “We truly believe that Paul will be a great asset to the team, with his experience and expertise working with other charities and businesses.

“This is a really exciting time for LoveBrum and this executive director role helps us re-focus our strategy to make the most of the momentum that we’ve created, but really drive all of our efforts forward.”

Mitchell has joined LoveBrum from the Royal Life Saving Society UK, where he spent four years as operations director and deputy chief executive for the UK and Commonwealth.

He has previously held management positions at Heathrow Airport, including delivering its London 2012 Olympic Games programme.

“It is great to be working with such an impactful charity, helping a range of small causes across Birmingham,” said Mitchell.

“As soon as I saw the work of LoveBrum, I wanted to get involved.”
