Comms business relocates to ‘booming’ Birmingham

Masgroves, a specialist communications business, has moved its operations from London to Birmingham, following the recent acquisition of several new contracts in the West Midlands.

Masgroves, founded in 2014, helps companies communicate more effectively with their people, and counts Talbots Law, Reward Gateway, London Sport and the Soil Association amongst its clients.

Stuart Thomas, Masgroves co-founder, who had stints at HomeServe, Mitsubishi and Tesco, said: “Birmingham is booming! It has all the buzz of London without the congestion, and we are excited to be part of it.

“Add in excellent transport links, connectivity and first class facilities, we cold not see ourselves being anywhere else. We are delivering an increasing amount of work in the Midlands so it made sense to create a base in the region.”

The agency has moved into offices in the Assay Studios in Newhall Street. The move to Birmingham comes only a few weeks after Masgroves launched a new product called ‘DOING by Masgroves’, which is a series of learning experiences focused on making companies better through brilliant communication. As part of its relocation, Masgroves is hoping to create a collective of smaller, local agencies who can work together to deliver specialist and complimentary services to companies, including in PR, recruitment and executive coaching.

Masgroves other co-founder, Tony Cosgrove, who had previously worked for Natural England, added: “The region is awash with fantastic talent and we believe we can bring it to the fore by joining forces with other like-minded, but non-competing firms. There is a lot of focus on the gig economy where smaller, more agile firms are pooling resources to make a much bigger difference. We want to create something similar here in the West Midlands and will be launching the collaboration shortly.”
