Hadley buys EWS to boost market share

Hadley Industries Plc, which has a presence in various locations across the west midlands, has bought the Wolverhampton based business EWS (Manufacturing Ltd) for an undisclosed sum. Hadley is a global leader in cold rolled steel technology, with manufacturing facilities in Europe, the Middle East and south east Asia and it employs over 700 staff.

Steve Towe, CEO of the Hadley Group said: ” I am delighted to confirm the addition of EWS into the Hadley Group. The company greatly complements our wide range of value added construction products. We look forward to supporting EWS as they continue to progress in the markets they serve.”

EWS manufactures in excess of 25 million metres per year of cold rollformed sections, and it is the market leader in window and door steel reinforcement, alongside core strengths in other construction markets.

Hadley were advised on the deal by Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office, whose corporate partner, Nick Dawson added: ” Hadley Industries is an innovative and hugely successful business which clearly demonstrates the strength and potential that the UK’s manufacturing sector has to offer.
