Law firm Anthony Collins Solicitors has created 30 jobs this year to support its growth.

The Birmingham-based firm revealed a jump in profits and revenues, and unveiled plans to open an office in Manchester later this year, although remained tight-lipped over its size and exact location.

Revenue was up 17% to £19.5m while profits increased by nearly one-third to £5.3m. Its workforce has grown to nearly 290 people.

Peter Hubbard, senior partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, described the results as “extremely positive”.

He said: “We are privileged to work with clients nationally who share our purpose of building a stronger society and the more we explain why we are in business together, the more clients we attract who have a similar outlook.”

Significant wins in included being appointed to EM Lawshare, the UK’s largest public sector legal consortium, and housing association L&Q, the Methodist Church Legal Framework, and The Kemnal Academies Trust.

It is now planning to open its second office, in Manchester, which will help the firm service a number of existing and new clients in the region.

These include local authorities using the North West Legal Services Panel, the Co-operatives sector and numerous North-West-based housing associations such as Riverside Group and Trafford HT.

Hubbard added: “Our success so far has provided us with great foundations to build from, and we see this expansion into the North West as an important step in securing our position as the leading UK social purpose law firm.”
