Goldsmiths invest £1m in Bullring store

Goldsmiths, the luxury high street jeweller has spent £1m on the refurbishment of its store in the Bullring, Birmingham’s iconic shopping destination that comprises the Bullring, Grand Central and Link Street.

The new Goldsmiths store includes the extension of 560 sq ft luxury watch room, which includes the third largest Rolex watch franchise in the UK, as well as space for a collaboration between Goldsmiths and the bridal designer Jenny Packham.

Joining Goldsmiths as another new tenant at the Bullring is Watchfinder, a brand that specialises in buying and selling pre-owned watches including prestigious brands like Cartier, Rolex and Omega. Watchfinder was founded in 2002 as an on line retailer, but it now has eight stores across the UK, including Hammerson centres at Brent Cross in London, and the Victoria Quarter in Leeds.

Head of retail at Watchfinder Alex Stonely said:”I am delighted to bring Watchfinder to Birmingham , the Bullring is a fantastic retail destination centre and has been on my wish list for some time. We’ve put together a fantastic team, the store looks great and I am confident it will prove itself a very successful addition to the portfolio.”

Ian Mitchell, commercial director at Hammerson added:”Watchfinder is a fantastic addition to the luxury retail line up at Bullring, following in the footsteps of NYX Professional MakeUp , Russell and Bromley, and Coach, who have all selected Bullring for their first regional stores within the last 12 months. The addition of the Rolex concession at Goldsmiths is a prime example of the growth of premium offer available and Bullring’s appeal to international brands as one of the strongest retail destinations outside London.”
