Barristers’ chambers in Birmingham reports record growth

Birmingham-based Kings Chambers, which boasts 110 barristers, including 19 QCs, has seen its billings for the first half of 2018 increase by 19.1% to a total of £17m.

The Chief Clerks of the Chambers, whose job it is to attract business and mange its flows internally, attribute this stunning growth to more international work , including commercial litigation cases, international arbitration, contract issues, contract disputes, professional liability claims and company law cases.

Bill Brown the Chamber’s Chief Clerk for Planning, Environment and Public Law said:”I am proud that we continue to secure instructions regionally, that would have traditionally been won by London sets. Members of the Kings Chambers are instructed by solicitors in cases that range from individual’s instructing counsel, up to cases involving major institutions, including Plc’s. Members of the chambers have been admitted to foreign jurisdictions including the Courts of the Dubai International Finance Centre, the Bar of the Republic of Ireland, the Bar of Northern Ireland, and the Bar of the British Virgin Islands.
