Elaghmore acquires Dublin based Alucraft Group

Elaghmore Partners LLP , the Leamington Spa based Private Equity firm, has bought Alucraft Group, Ireland’s leading designer, manufacturer and installer of architectural glazing systems, for an undisclosed sum.

Alucraft, which has offices in Dublin and Tamworth, employs around 200 people and was founded 40 years ago. It has provided the facades to many high-profile construction projects, including Amazon’s new HQ in Dublin, the HQ for Lidl in Ireland, and LinedIn EMEA, the Gateway Building at Salford University and Tata Steel in Birmingham.

Elaghmore identified Alucraft as a suitable industrial business with significant opportunity for growth and value creation.

Andy Ducker, a founding partner at Elaghmore said:”Alucraft is a successful and profitable company which has built a market leading position in Ireland manufacturing and supplying architectural glazing systems to some of the biggest property developments in the country. Ireland is an exciting market with high-profile tech companies establishing head quarters therewith more opportunities for Alucraft expected as financial services look to build operations in the country, post Brexit.”

Elaghmore’s strategy is to fund the next phase of Elaghmore’s growth, including further expansion into the UK, as well as using its extensive contacts in the construction and house building industry to help Alucraft expand its customer base.

Jack McHugh, the managing director of Alucraft will continue in that role supported by his autonomous management and staff from their Dublin HQ.

Commenting on the deal, McHugh added:”We are very excited about the future of Alucraft and the opportunities we see to expand the business both in Ireland and the UK. We choose to partner with Elaghmore, which has a strong record of supporting the growth of SMEs and providing non-executive expertise to add even greater value.”

As well as its core function, Alucraft stocks, supports and advises its clients on a variety of other thermo-plastic products, and smoke and heat systems through its wholly owned subsidiary business, William Cox.
