Arnold Clark investing millions in new Wolverhampton facility

The planned Arnold Clark site at Pantheon Park

Wolverhampton City Council has approved a planning application for work to begin on the re-development of a four acre site in the city which will become a flagship showroom for Arnold Clark, at Pantheon Park.

Pantheon Park is an 18 acre site which has undergone extensive remediation. The development is a joint venture between Stoford Developments and Bridges Fund Management, which is a specialist in sustainable developments. The work has been supported by a loan of over £2m from the Black Country LEP.

Arnold Clark, which already operates 200 dealerships across the UK, is going to invest ‘millions of pounds’ into this new facility which will include a new showroom, a Motorstore, display forecourt, secure compound and vehicle preparation building.

Angus Huntley, Stoford’s development manager said:”It is great news that Arnold Clark’s proposal has been approved and it marks a major investment in Wolverhampton, paving the way for further investment into the scheme which will create additional high quality jobs. Alongside Bridges Fund Management, and with the support of the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership, we have worked hard to get the site ready for development and it is pleasing to see construction could begin early next year.”

The acquisitions director at  Bridges Fund Management, Guy Bowden, said:”We believe the Pantheon Park development represents a great opportunity on both fronts: by reclaiming this valuable land which has been vacant for a decade, we can help to meet the clear shortfall in supply of high quality warehouse space locally, creating hundreds of jobs and hopefully contributing to the regeneration of the area in the process.”

Pantheon Park now has planning permission for for four schemes to build units from 30,000 sq ft all the way up to 412,000 sq ft. Once it is fully completed the scheme is expected to generate about 400 jobs.
