Circle Health is to create 250 jobs when it opens a hospital in the Edgbaston Medical Quarter next summer.

The £50m Circle Birmingham Hospital will open in June, treating patients with a wide range of conditions including pain in bones and joints, hernias, varicose veins and digestive problems.

An additional rehabilitation centre will open a couple of months later with 120 rehabilitation beds. This will specialise in helping those recovering from strokes and other neurological conditions, major surgery such as hip replacements, and sporting injuries.

Jacqueline Droogan, director of mobilisation for Circle Birmingham Hospital, said it will be “a state-of-the-art hospital that will be spacious, bright and high-tech”.

Circle opened its first hospital in Nottingham in 2008 and now also has sites in Bath and Reading.
