Weekender: Airline launches route to Romania

Wizz Air has announced the launch of a new route from Birmingham Airport to Cluj International Airport in Romania.

Connecting passengers to Cluj- Napaco the second most populous city in Romania it also gives passengers a gateway to Transylvania.

Cluj is also becoming a go to destination for music and film festivals and is also popular with nature enthusiasts and avid city explorers.

Flights will start on December 16.

Tom Screen, acting aviation director, Birmingham Airport, said:
“We are delighted that Wizz Air has decided to increase its presence at Birmingham Airport by adding flights to Cluj this winter. With strong load factors across all their existing Birmingham network, we are sure that Wizz Air’s sixth route from the Midlands will continue their success.”
