Increased support offered to new businesses by local Chamber
September is a time for reappraisal and planning for the future and help is at hand for those businesses who need advice and support

The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) is offering local companies a range of support activities this month, as part of an initiative to persuade businesses in its area, especially new businesses with less than a 12 mont trading history, to think of September as their ‘back to school’ month.

The Chamber believes that the end of the summer holidays is the ideal time for businesses to think about their priorities and plan for the all important final quarter of the year, while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities that 2019 will bring.

Hardeep Sandhu, enterprise coach team leader at CWCC said:”September is a bit like January in many respects for businesses – it is a time to re-set after a break and make sure you are up to speed with everything you need to drive growth in the final quarter of the year, and begin preparations for the New Year. Many of the major business events in the region are coming up such as CW Rocks, the Chamber’s Expo on 28 September 2018 at the Ricoh Arena, which offers an opportunity for businesses of all sizes and sectors to make new contacts and re-establish existing relationships.”

“September is also a month in the year when businesses are looking to invest in their own growth and our advisors can help when it comes to grants and funding because they have great knowledge of what is available and with both traditional and innovative forms of finance.”

Recognising that new businesses often need the greatest support, CWCC is laying on a programme of activities all designed to meet their specific problems, as Sandhu added:”For new businesses in their early stages of less than 12 months, we will also have events on offer covering such topics as self-assessment as this is something that many smaller businesses see as a headache, but, with support and planning, does not have to be.”

“We have supported many, many companies across Coventry and Warwickshire who are less than 12 months old through this programme and we’d urge them to get in touch with us to find out how we can help.”

The Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, in partnership with Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council and the District and Borough Councils.
