People: Security firm makes trio of board appointments; Hires and promotions at property specialist; and more

Bromsgrove-based national security services expert GMS Group has appointed a trio directors to help continue to build and grow the business.

Lisa Nicholson, who has been appointed as commercial director, previously spent eight years at the Black Country Chamber. With a number of new contract wins under her belt already, she brings an extensive network of contacts and business support expertise to the firm.

Joining the team as a non-executive director, James Martin has 30 years of experience advising businesses and helping to manage change and growth.His new role will involve expanding GMS’s footprint in the insolvency market whilst helping to bring exciting and innovative new products to market.

Gary Higgins joins as a non-executive director, with a background of 30 years police service, and is working in conjunction with police forces to help reduce burglary, theft and vandalism in key target areas.

The family-run firm currently employs over 500 staff across the group.

Solihull-based commercial property portal PropList has marked a period of rapid growth with the appointment of two new business development managers and a new general manager.
Reiss Carr has been with the business, which specialises in listing commercial properties across the UK, since February 2018 as a project manager, and will now oversee the day-to-day running of the company as PropList’s general manager.

The site has appointed business development managers for both the north and south of the UK, as the portal now lists over 11,000 commercial assets from across the British Isles.

Elishar Ettarh takes on the role for the south of England, moving to PropList after four years as a recruitment consultant, while Tom Atlas will be based in Chester, responsible for business development throughout the North West.

Richard Howells, CEO of PropList, said: “Reiss has been integral to the progress we’ve seen to date, and his man-management skills and knowledge of commercial property make him a perfect general manager to keep driving the business forward.”
