Property professionals race to end youth homelessness in LandAid Midlands 10K
More than 200 property professionals from across the industry pounded the streets of Birmingham in their race to end youth homelessness in the second annual LandAid Midlands 10K, sponsored by St. Modwen, developer and regeneration specialist.
Competitive spirits ran high at LandAid’s second Midlands run, which featured a 5K course for the first time this year.
In the Fastest Male Under 45 10K race, Stephen Garrett of Savills UK was first across the line, setting a time of 00:33:45. Loretta Soffe of Eversheds Sutherland won the Fastest Female Under 45 10K race with a time of 00:40:52.
The times in the 5K course were similarly tight. Hugo Orchard-Lisle of MHA London set a time of 00:18:14 in the first ever 5K race, winning the Fastest 5K prize.
In the Fastest Male Veteran category, Andy Clayton of St. Modwen was crowned the victor, finishing the 10K with a time of 00:39:43. Ann Chance of St Francis Group clinched the Fastest Female Veteran award, crossing the line after 00:50:37.
DLA Piper were the champions in the Fastest Team category, setting a team time of 02:54:32. Gina Dixon from St. Modwen was the winner of the Highest Individual Fundraiser award, while MHA London were the company with the Highest Company Fundraising total before the event.
LandAid has already raised more than £26,000 from this year’s race, which was hosted and sponsored by St. Modwen in and around Longbridge town centre.
The money will help to fund local youth homelessness charity St Basils to renovate 24 one-bed flats and 24 studio apartments for vulnerable young people.
The renovation will improve the energy efficiency of St Basils’ Edmonds Court accommodation, creating homes for the young residents and making the cost of living there more affordable, so they can save for the future.
