Property People: Caddick Land strengthens senior team with new head of planning; KWB makes key promotion; and more

Caddick Land, the strategic land division of the family-run construction and property development company Caddick Group, has recruited a new head of planning to lead on strategic planning and site promotion.

Mike Jones has more than 30 years’ experience across both the public and private sectors. He joins Caddick Land from IDP, where he served as planning director.

Jones previously held the role of strategic land director at Richborough Estates, where he was responsible for the acquisition and project management of strategic sites through the planning system. During his time there, he helped grow Richborough from a niche startup to one of the country’s leading land promotion companies.

Caddick Land was launched in July 2017, and Jones arrives at a time of significant growth, with a secured pipeline of close to 10,000 homes and approximately eight million sq. ft. of commercial industrial space.

He will be based out of the newly established Birmingham office, alongside land manager David Baker, in order to support Caddick Land’s regional expansion.

Jones said: “In just over a year Caddick Land has built up an impressive portfolio of residential and industrial opportunities, both major growth sectors for the property industry. I look forward to working closely with the team, to grow the Birmingham office, and help drive the overall business’ success.”

Chris Procter, director at Caddick Land, added: “Having just passed our first year milestone, it is hugely exciting to bring someone with Mike’s experience to oversee the next phase in our growth. Our strategic element is key to our overall land offering, and Mike’s knowledge and understanding of the sector is going to be a significant asset.”
