University expands at refurbished Friars House building

Coventry University has expanded at the refurbished Friars House building.

Having previously secured the ninth floor, Coventry University will now also occupy the seventh floor of the eleven storey building on Manor House Drive.

Friars House is situated alongside the new £100m Friargate masterplan, which is creating new office space, hotels, homes, retail units and restaurants in Coventry’s largest regeneration project for several decades.

It was revealed earlier this year that the university, serviced office provider Fig Offices and higher education service provider Keypath Education were joining existing tenants at Friars House, such as global recruitment group Hays.

The second phase of a £4m refurbishment programme at Friars House completed last month.

Following the completion of phase one of the refurbishment, which included the upgrade of the ground floor reception area and communal areas along with three of the 10 available floors, FI Real Estate Management renovated the remaining vacant floors within the 70,000 sq ft building.

A spokesperson for FI Real Estate Management said: “The recent refurbishment programme has further enhanced Friars House’s status as the location of some of the most attractive office space in Coventry. It’s very pleasing that the University has committed to doubling its presence in the building, and we’re confident it will be fully let in due course.”

The joint letting agents for Friars House are Holt Commercial and Cushman & Wakefield.
