Work starts on £4.6m Stoke scheme

Work has started on a £4.6m housing development in Stoke-on-Trent.

Your Housing Group and its partner contractor MCI Developments are building 37 homes in Cobridge, comprising 27 two-bedroom homes and 10 three-bedroom homes all available for affordable rent.

Developed by Warrington-based Your Housing Group, which also run Stoke-on-Trent’s flagship extra care schemes, Grange Street is part of the housing provider’s plan to build 5,700 homes across the North of England.

Ruth Smeeth, MP for Stoke-on-Trent North, said: “It is great to see more decent, affordable homes being built here in Stoke-on-Trent. Our local communities need more good quality housing that families can afford, and I am sure that this development will be a welcome addition to Cobridge.”

Lorraine Donnelly, development director from Your Housing Group, said: “Grange Street fits our vision to create more places to thrive, offering new homes for affordable rent in an outstanding location with amenities and transport on the doorstep. I am confident that our new development will be a terrific asset for the Cobridge area and provide much needed new homes for local families and young people.”

The first homes in Grange Street are expected to be available from early 2019.
