Chinese restaurant Tattu set to make its mark as work progresses on third Birmingham venue

Chinese restaurant Tattu has announced it will open the doors to its third venue in Birmingham city centre in January as work progresses at the new site on Barwick Street.

The 150-cover, split-level restaurant will occupy a space within the historic Grand development.

Eighty jobs will be created at the site.

The brothers behind the brand, Adam and Drew Jones, said: “Each Tattu restaurant has its own identity and style that takes customers on a sensory journey as they dine. We recognise the historic importance of The Grand to the city and wanted to reflect that in our concept.

“Being situated underneath the stunning Grosvenor Suite we knew we would need to carefully consider our restaurant layout and design. With the grandeur of the space, the challenge was to provide flow through the ground and basement levels.

“We explored the Chinese philosophy of Yin Yang and fell in love with the idea of two different entities that blend together to create something harmonious. Working with this concept we are hoping to create a restaurant that complements the outstanding features of the space, the results should be beautiful and deliver a unique customer experience that is exclusive to Birmingham.”
