Property in Brief: BPG completes Moseley Central; Kitchen specialist cooks up Birmingham expansion; and more

Midlands property investor and developer BPG is celebrating the completion of its Moseley Central project, which is now over 50% sold.

There are 46 properties within the building on the Alcester Road, ranging from studios to two bedroom apartments with their own private terraces.

BPG director John Southall said: “These elegant apartments reflect the vibrant feel of Moseley and are situated right in the centre of this buzzing community, which will soon benefit from a direct rail link to the City centre. We are very proud of Moseley Central and now that the building is complete, we’re anticipating that the remaining properties will be snapped up quickly because of their fantastic location and affordability.”

Moseley Central’s completion comes after the recent announcement that work will start on a new railway station for Moseley in 2020, with two trains an hour into the city centre.

Midlands hair specialist Elite Barbers has signed a deal with Worcestershire pop up shop supplier Rapid Retail, which has led to the chain opening its first Birmingham outlet.

Rapid Retail has designed and built a portable shop for Elite Barbers, which has been installed at The Fort shopping park. It is open seven days a week and offers the full range of male grooming services, including haircuts for both adults and children, shaves and beard trims.

The new shop is the latest edition to owner Phil Hart’s portfolio and replicates the look and feel of established sites operating in Lichfield and Burntwood.

With the pop up concept already proving a success, Phil now plans to expand even further, with an additional shop already in the pipeline.

Hart said: “We had been searching for a suitable location for a new shop for quite some time and when this opportunity came up at The Fort, we jumped at the chance. The centre is well known and achieves footfall of around 120,000, so the potential market was there.”

Nick Daffern, managing director of Rapid Retail, added: “The Elite Barbers pop up shop looks fantastic. It is enticing to passing trade, but robust and highly secure when not in use. It is yet another example of how flexible the portable shop build concept is, being quick to design and build, and perfect for use in any available space.”

Rapid Retail, based in Worcestershire, supplies pop up shop, kiosks and merchandise display units to customers across the UK and Europe. Clients range from non-league sports clubs to world-famous stadiums, brands and retailers, including Adidas, O2, Cooperative Food, Silverstone, Wembley and Woburn Safari Park.
