AIM Logistics has completed a £5m investment to acquire and build a distribution and logistics centre in Evesham.

The centre will be based at AIM’s current, 3.2 acre site at Vale Business Park.

The independent, family-owned temperature control distributor business was established in 2004 and has seen a rapid expansion in the past 14 years, now operating a fleet of 70 vehicles. The business currently employs 150 staff with an annual turnover of £14m.

Ismail Elmagdoub, company director at AIM Logistics, said: “We had simply outgrown our previous site and the new development secures our future and enables the business to expand into other markets. Situated in a prime location at the side of the A46 on the Vale Business Park, Evesham, the new site gives us much greater capacity and we have already received our operator license to increase our trailer count to 85 tractor units and 100 trailers.

“We have also created a state of the art maintenance workshop under new company name  ‘Vale Maintenance Services’ to bring “in house” all our servicing and maintenance work and the ability to conduct third party maintenance and servicing to generate an additional revenue stream.”

Neil Barnes, Barclays relationship director, said: “By really understanding the business and the industry sector, Barclays has been able to deliver a funding package to support this ambitious project. The new facility demonstrates both Barclays and AIM Logistics confidence in the continued growth and success of the business.  The 18 month build and fit out has already created over 30 new jobs and puts a significant asset on the balance sheet. ”
