Michelin-starred chef to open new Birmingham venture

Michelin-starred chef Adam Stokes is to open a seafood restaurant in Birmingham in February in what will be the latest addition to the city’s dining scene.

Stokes, who runs Adam’s in Waterloo Street, will launch The Oyster Club in nearby Temple Street.

The Oyster Club will be a 30-cover restaurant and 24-seater bar serving sea food dishes ranging from fish and chips to fresh oysters.

Stokes said: “I want to encourage a neighbourhood feel. We will offer a friendly relaxed service and have regular diners who do see The Oyster Club as a club, where they can meet up and catch up with each other over a plate of oysters.”

Tony Matters, creative director of design agency Faber, who also created the design for Adam’s, said: “Faber has been working with Adam since the very beginning of his journey here in Birmingham; it’s been a privilege to witness his success and play our own small part in that.”
