Print specialist creates jobs after funding deal

CS Labels, a Willenhall-based print specialist, has created jobs and invested in a top of the range digital press after securing a six-figure loan.

The company said its new Xeikon machine will help support its push into new markets, such as flexible print packaging.

This investment forms part of a ten-year strategic growth plan for CS Labels, which included the move to new premises in Willenhall in July this year with the support of HSBC UK.

The new offices enabled the digital printers to put in place the infrastructure to facilitate growth and space to bring in the digital presses, as well as enabling the creation of five jobs.

The business plans to purchase an additional two digital printing presses in the next six months.

Simon Smith, managing director of CS Labels, said: “We’ve seen increasing demand for digitally printed services over the past year and with our new Xeikon CX500 – and plans for further printing presses – we are ideally placed to meet this need. The support of our HSBC Relationship Manager, Stuart Smith, has been key to making this expansion in our services possible, allowing us to purchase state-of-the-art equipment that will ensure we deliver the best quality to our customers.”

Stephen Peart, HSBC UK area director for business banking in the Black Country, said: “CS Labels continues to go from strength-to-strength and is fast becoming a leader in the digital print world. We’re delighted to have been able to support this local business in improving their machinery and relocating to bigger, better premises. The team has a great future ahead of them and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the business.”

CS Labels is the largest digital label printer in Europe using Xeikon technology. It has been family-owned and run since 1976 and employs 54 staff.
