Investment and development firm Key Land Capital, which is delivering residential projects worth more than £40m across the West Midlands, has relocated its headquarters into the heart of Birmingham’s business district.

The ambitious company has marked its first anniversary by launching its new HQ at Bruntwood’s Cornerblock development in Cornwall Street, where it has taken 1,500 sq ft of office space in the recently refurbished building.

Co-founder Kevin Patrick Sharkey said: “It’s been an amazing year here at Key Land Capital. From a small start-up in Aston we’ve progressed rapidly to the point where we are now delivering five exciting residential developments with a total value of more than £40m.

“Moving into the heart of the business community here in Birmingham was the logical next step as Key Land Capital continues to grow. The city is undergoing a remarkable renaissance and the eyes of the property investment world are watching its transformation with interest.

“Investors across the UK and overseas now recognise that Birmingham, with developments such as HS2 and Paradise, and the arrival of major firms such as HSBC, is great place to invest their money.”

Alex Sutherland added: “For us, this is the place to be as we continue to build on the successes of our first year in which we’ve established ourselves as a rapidly growing player in residential and commercial property development across the Midlands.”

Key Land Capital projects include the £15m Ringway House student accommodation development in Coventry, Knights House, the office-to-residential conversion into 63 luxury apartments in Sutton Coldfield, and the creation of 24 apartments at a former office building in Stafford.

Designers Cream and Black and fit-out specialist Estilo created the interiors of the company’s new offices at Cornerblock.

Bruntwood’s director of Birmingham, Rob Valentine, said: “I have worked in Birmingham for a long time and there is so much positivity here at the moment. It comes as no surprise to me that increasing numbers of companies are looking to move into the city centre and we are pleased that Key Land Capital chose Cornerblock and I am excited to welcome them to this vibrant community and district.”
