Developer to build 150 homes after agreeing land deal

Developer Lovell Homes plans to build 151 homes in Wolverhampton after purchasing the land, which already has planning permission for the development.

It has bought the 8.45-acre site off Steelhouse Lane, in the Monmore Green area about a mile from the city centre, for an undisclosed sum.

James Willcock, of Harris Lamb’s residential land team, which sold the site, said: “The demand for housing in close proximity to the city centre is high, and this redevelopment will play a huge part in the region’s urban regeneration.

“Lovell Homes has a fantastic track record when it comes to delivering quality homes and regenerating ex-industrial redundant sites, and everyone is very keen to get started.”

Work at the site is expected to start early next year. The 151 homes will include one-bedroom apartments and two to four-bedroom houses.

Half of the properties will be dedicated to affordable housing.
