Brewery cheered by listing at top hotel

A beer which started life in a Coventry garage five years ago has ended up on draught at one of the finest hotels in the UK.

Chris Cooper and Ritchie Bosworth founded Twisted Barrel Ale brewery in Cooper’s garage and have since built it into a thriving brewery and tap house at FarGo Village in Coventry.

Now their beer is on tap at Dormy House in the Cotswolds.

Four-star Dormy House was named Hotel of the Year 2018 by Small Luxury Hotels of the World and includes an award-winning spa and a three-rosette restaurant.

For the past few months, the 38-room hotel has been serving UK and international visitors pints of session IPA Sine Qua Non – a popular beer brewed by the team at Twisted Barrel.

Dormy House and FarGo Village are both members of Shakespeare’s England, which promotes tourism across Warwickshire and the region.

Ekaterina Leret, marketing and commercial manager at Shakespeare’s England said: “We represent companies and organisations right across the tourism and hospitality sector and it is great when we hear of them trading with each other.

“FarGo Village has a wealth of creative businesses which draw people into Coventry, but Twisted Barrel products are going farther afield and there is no better showcase than Dormy House.”

Cooper said: “We supply through our distributor Inn Express, and so don’t always know where the beer is being served – but someone who knows our products told us it was being served at Dormy House, which is fantastic.

“We are a small brewery and at our current capacity still relatively new, so to have our beer served by such a highly-rated hotel is a real landmark for us.”
