Traffic Alert: Crash causes A38 closures

The A38 is closed in both directions in Staffordshire between the A513 near Alrewas and the B5016 near Barton-under-Needwood.

A crash has resulted in damage to a lamp column.

A diversion is available.

Northbound traffic should exit at the Alrewas junction and follow the route marked with a hollow yellow triangle on local road signs. This will direct traffic on the A513 west to Kings Bromley.

At the junction with the A515 turn right. Continue on A515 north to Yoxall. Turn right on to the B5016 east and continue past Barton-under-Needwood to rejoin the A38.

Southbound traffic should exit at the Barton-under-Needwood junction and follow the above route in reverse – marked out with a black square symbol on local road signs (take B5016 west, A515 south, A513 east to the Alrewas junction).

Road users intending on using this section of the A38 through Staffordshire are advised to allow additional time for their journey and, if possible, consider alternative routes.
