Business transformation consultancy makes high profile board hire

Business transformation consultancy Curium Solutions has added a leading business figure to its board.

Tracy Westall, a former SCC senior executive and current West Midlands Digital Leaders Local Champion, has joined the firm, which is shortlisted in three categories in TheBusinessDesk.com’s Business Masters Awards next month, as executive chair.

Curium director and co-founder Adam Farrow said: “Tracy has impeccable credentials and a fantastic reputation for her commercial successes, knowledge of the region, technology background, and passion for diversity and inclusion. She adds a unique perspective to the board, which will help us to deliver on our long-term growth opportunities.”

“As anyone building a fast-paced business knows, creating capacity to think strategically is a necessity, but day-to-day business often comes first. This role maximises my business experience and strategic thinking to support the founders in their growth aspirations,” added Westall.

Westall spent 30 years working in the tech sector, spending much of that time as a board executive at Midlands-based tech company SCC. She has also been part of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP – as the director for innovation for the West Midlands – as well as the Smart City Commission, Birmingham Science City Board and Tech UK.

Now a non-executive and business adviser, she works with a number of organisations. She sits on the advisory boards of Innovation Birmingham and West Midlands Digital, and the board of Birmingham City University. Westall is a non-executive director at the Department for Transport.

She said: “I am really excited by what Curium do and, importantly, what they are planning to do. They have a refreshing and innovative take on leadership, change and people – all of which are areas that I am passionate about.

“The opportunity to get involved and help shape and grow the business was too good to pass up. The three founders have built a great business with energy, passion and vision. When they asked me to be part of the journey, how could I say no?”

The three founding directors are Adam Farrow, James Farrow and Andy Dawson.

The company has been shortlisted for three West Midlands Business Masters this year – Professional Services, Small Business and International Trade. The winners of the awards will be announced at TheBusinessDesk.com’s black-tie dinner on Thursday, March 21, at Edgbaston Stadium.
