Land specialist secures development partner for housing scheme

Strategic land company Richborough Estates has secured Bovis Homes as its development partner to deliver a residential development on the southern edge of Kenilworth.

Situated just a mile from the town centre, the 14.5 acre site, located on the Warwick Road and adjacent to Kenilworth Cricket Club, secured outline planning permission in 2018.

The site will feature 125 homes, of which 40% will be provided as affordable housing.

The scheme will make Section 106 financial contributions towards local highway and public transport improvements as well as further local community amenities including health, library services and local biodiversity.

Bovis Homes will now continue to work with local stakeholders including the town council, district council, Kenilworth Cricket Club and the wider community as it looks to bring forward its detailed plans for the site.

James Bradshaw, divisional director at Richborough Estates, said: “This development of new homes will have a positive effect on Kenilworth, helping the community meet its housing needs while also providing 40% affordable housing for local people.

“Bovis is a company with a strong track record of building high quality homes and we are confident they will deliver an exemplary project here in the heart of Warwickshire. We want the legacy for the development to be one that adds value to the local area and has a positive impact.”

Ian Green of Bovis Homes, said: “We’re really pleased to kick off 2019 with the purchase of this important site on the edge of Kenilworth. We are looking forward to delivering a wide range of housing types on the site for the benefit of the people of Warwickshire.”

Strutt & Parker’s national development and planning team, based in Oxford, represented the landowners and handled the marketing process.
