People: Corporate finance firm boosts team; Director hire at executive search firm; and more

Birmingham-based corporate finance and accountancy services firm Blue Sky Corporate Finance has boosted its team with the appointment of Paul Bennett.

Bennett will primarily offer advice and support to those businesses based in the Coventry & Warwickshire region.

He joins Blue Sky from Coventry University Enterprises (CUE) where he was manager of a variety of programs designed to support start-up and growth businesses.

Phill Machell, former executive director at Michael Page Interim, has been appointed as director at Holmes Noble, the Solihull-based executive search and interim management firm.

His remit is to lead Holmes Noble’s interim business and drive company growth in its key sectors of industrial manufacturing, supply chain management, support services, and energy and infrastructure.

Machell has 25 years experience in the pan European interim management area and has held senior leadership roles within PLC and SME recruitment organisations.

Michelle Carson-Williams, chief executive of Holmes Noble, said: “Phill is a significant hire for us and a fabulous addition to the executive team at Holmes Noble. I am personally delighted Phill has joined to lead our interim business at such an important phase of our growth, including the expansion of our consultancy services, advancement into new markets as well as increasing our international footprint.”

Simon Weare

A series of appointments have been made at PCS Publishing as the company celebrates its 45th year.

The publishing solutions provider has recently welcomed operations director Matt Whiles, quality assurance manager Daniel Taylor and product specialist Gemma Warner to the team.

Meanwhile, Simon Weare, who has been with the business for 19 years, has been promoted to development director, and Hannah Lloyd, who joined as marketing manager in 2016, has been promoted to marketing director.

Managing director Graeme Clifford, said it is an exciting time for the company, which has established itself as a publishing technology partner to several media organisations including MNA, Newsquest, Racing Post, DC Thomson, SPP Media Group and Iliffe Media.
