Traffic Alert: Closures on M6 southbound

The M6 is closed southbound between J11 (Cannock) and J10 (Walsall/Wolverhampton).

Highways England said the closure is due to a Central Motorway Police Group led incident.

Road users are advised to follow the diversion symbol and exit the M6 at J11, take the 4th exit onto the A460 southbound.

Continue on the A4600 until M54 J1, take the 3rd exit onto the M54 westbound carriageway. Travel along the carriageway until J2, then exit. Take the 1st exit onto the A449 southbound. Continue along the A449 southbound to Wolverhampton Ring Road (East).

Continue on the ring road (southbound), to the Horsley Fields junction. At the junction turn left, onto A454 eastbound (Horsley Fields). Continue on the A454 until the interchange with the A463 (Keyway Roundabout). At the roundabout, turn left (2nd exit) onto the interchange entry slip road, to continue on the A454, by merging with traffic on A463 northbound.

Continue on the A454 to M6 J10. Take the 3rd exit onto the M6 southbound.

Drivers have been warned that the length of the diversion is approximately 15.5 miles and should allow extra time for their journey.
