MIA Property Group acquires buildings at Selly Oak Hospital

The former clinic at Selly Oak Hospital has been acquired by MIA property Group.

Transforming unloved properties into modern, versatile living and work spaces is key to the ethos of MIA.

The building was used as a clinic at former Selly Oak Hospital known as West Lodge.

Redevelopment into 10 luxury comprises of one and two bed apartments has already started.

MIA wanted to waste no time in preparing high quality homes for the new occupiers.

Birmingham University is a stones throw away, as is the Queen Elizabeth hospital and Birmingham city centre. The site is also on the edge of historical Bournville village, home of the famous Cadbury’s factory.

A spokesman for MIA said: “We are proud to have the opportunity to convert this iconic building into homes for discerning buyers. The site is located within an established mature residential suburb and comprises of a derelict site and building in contrast to the well maintained surrounding properties within this area of Selly Oak.

“The building is itself in poor condition and considered uneconomic to reinstate having lain empty for a number of years. The property deserves some TLC & will provide valuable needed homes for Birmingham.”
