American pipeline extended for tubing group

Tube manipulation specialist Tricorn Group is extending its own pipeline in America after agreeing a deal that increases its capabilities and facilities.

It has agreed a five-year lease on a 47,000 sq ft facility in Georgia while at the same time acquiring a paint line for $50,000 that was installed in the building – which it estimates originally cost more than 10 times the purchase price.

The two agreements mean Malvern-headquartered Tricorn can bring in-house processes that it had been subcontracting.

Mike Welburn, group chief executive of Tricorn, said: “We have seen increased demand from our customers for powder coated and painted parts.

“The additional manufacturing floor space also provides for the intended expansion of our capacity and a broadening of our product offering.”

Tricorn’s new American site is 12 miles from its existing facility in Franklin, North Carolina. It also has agreed an option on an additional 50,000 sq ft of space within the building in Georgia.
