Festival postponed due to extreme weather

Himley Hall was due to host the annual charity festival on Sunday.

SummerFest 2019, the charity festival which was due to take place on Sunday, has been postponed due to the recent poor weather.

Dudley Council, venue management at Himley Hall, and representatives of the Mary Stevens Hospice made the decision after the yellow-weather warning rainfall meant the ground at the park was unusable.

Artists such as Scouting For Girls and Becky Hill were due to headline the event which raises funds for the hospice each year and have agreed to return later in the summer.

The two dates currently proposed are Sunday 28th July and Saturday 10th August.

Supporters who have pre-booked tickets will still be able to use them at the new event or can get a full refund by contacting the Hospice fundraising department on 01384 377 778 or emailing info@mshfundraising.co.uk

Laura Amy, SummerFest event organiser, Mary Stevens Hospice, said: “Obviously this has been such a difficult reality to come to terms with and we would just like to start by thanking every single partner of this event who has rallied and done everything they can to ensure we can put this event on later in the summer.

“We commit to creating incredible memories for our supporters which also make our care possible for families when they need us the most and we are so grateful for the understanding we have had from our supporters in being forced to reschedule this event.

“It goes without saying that it’s not been an easy decision to make, however we can ensure everyone involved that this event will happen and we hope to see thousands of families there with us on the day having the time of their lives.”

The event is being run in partnership with Signal 107 and Sadler’s Brewery.
