Former children’s home to go under the hammer at auction

A former children’s home is set to be sold at auction next month.

Viscount House is the flagship lot of five being offered by Birmingham City Council in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ July sale at Villa Park on Wednesday 3 July.

The freehold purpose-built two storey building is part of Bond Wolfe Auctions’ third auction in a row to offer over 100 lots.

Bond Wolfe Auctions’ chief executive Gurpreet Bassi said: “Viscount House is offered for sale by auction with the possibility of continuing as a children’s home but the property may be suitable for a number of alternative uses, including residential conversion in to two or three residential dwelling, subject to planning permission.”

The property is offered with a guide price of £175,000 plus.

Also going under the hammer is a three bedroom leasehold detached house in Erdington, which is a former caretaker’s property with additional side land.

The remaining three Birmingham City Council lots being offered are plots of land, including freehold land adjacent to 76 Grendon Road in Kings Heath (guide price £10,000+), a freehold plot next to 81 Grendon Road, Kings Heath, (guide price £10,000+) and a larger freehold site next to 11 Stones Green in Erdington, which is offered with a guide price of £30,000.
