Innovation Birmingham’s expansion plans revealed

Enterprise Wharf

Property group Bruntwood SciTech has unveiled the details of the planned expansion of its Innovation Birmingham campus, which will see a 120,000 sq ft development built at the site.

TheBusinessDesk.com exclusively revealed its plans back in February, which is designed to cater for the demand from technology and digital businesses wishing to locate and grow in Birmingham city centre.

Enterprise Wharf is an 11-storey development that is scheduled to open in 2021. Bruntwood has launched a public consultation on its plans ahead of the building being submitted for planning later this year.

Bruntwood SciTech was close to securing a pre-let for one-quarter of the building earlier this year and was receiving interest from a number of companies interested in relocating.

It is already looking ahead to adding a second building at Innovation Birmingham.

Bruntwood bought the city centre site from Birmingham City Council in 2018 with ambitions to develop the site as part of a broader knowledge district.

It then created a joint venture with L&G, Bruntwood SciTech, last October that has set itself the target of adding 5m sq ft of science and technology space in England’s regional cities in the next 10 years.
