IT office equipment reseller’s growth plans on track following acquisition

Altodigital, the UK’s largest independent reseller of IT office equipment, has acquired award-winning IT automotive experts to focus on achieving its ambitious business goals.Based in Kingswinford, Altodigital has reached an agreement to takeover Bedfordshire-based Platinum, an IT support services company.

Altodigital’s board believe the acquisition will contribute to the company’s aim of achieving 25% growth in the next three years.

“We’ve known Platinum’s managing director, Sean Foster, for a number of years, and he and his team have an established reputation for high quality service,” said Stewart Abrahart, Business Manager at Altodigtal.

“Platinum also works with Lexmark, one of our current partners and giants in the world of printing services, so I see the business as a perfect fit for Altodigital.’

He added that Platinum specialises in the automotive industry and has about 10% of the UK market.

Sean Foster, MD at Platinum, said the company had been trading for 20 years in IT services and about five years ago began working with Lexmark as business solutions dealer.

“We were Lexmark’s dealer of the year for a number of years and people started to hear about us. We made a lot of progress very quickly,” he said.

“Going forward, Altodigital is the biggest business solutions dealer in the UK. We have an excellent relationship with Lexmark which is one of Altodigital’s smaller brands. Connecting with them is a good fit all round and there is a good opportunity for both businesses to grow.”
