People: VWV expands private client offering; Partner appointment at Friisberg & Partners International; and more

VWV’s national private team is growing its office in Birmingham having been joined by Peter Heath and Jayne Udall of Inheritance Matters.

Heath and Udall have successfully run Inheritance Matters for over 10 years, and are now looking at their retirement path whilst ensuring that their clients are in safe hands.

Joining as consultants, they will become part of the established VWV Private Client team, which comprises six specialists led by partner Rachael Armstrong, and supported by a national team of 55.

Heath said: “It has been really important for Jayne and I to provide our clients with a future source of advice so that we can be happy that our clients are in safe hands whilst we put our retirement plans in place. Having worked with VWV and experienced first-hand their approach to client care and service, they were the natural choice for us to work with.

“We are looking forward to joining VWV and the team of specialist private client lawyers, whilst ensuring we are available to our clients to make their journey as seamless as possible.”

Simon Heald, VWV managing partner, said: “Our Birmingham office keeps going from strength to strength. Turnover increased 30% last year and we are still actively looking for talented lawyers to join us. Peter and Jayne and their legacy of Inheritance Matters will further unite and enhance our services to new and existing clients.

“Peter and Jayne join us after our most recent appointment of charity specialist Shivaji Shiva.”

Executive search firm Friisberg & Partners International has appointed Lorri Lowe as a partner.

Lowe’s clients include a range of UK businesses, but she also works extensively and increasingly for international corporates with cross-border interests.

She said: “For both UK companies with existing or new markets abroad and for overseas businesses in or coming to the UK, it will be more important than ever to ensure local management teams are strong. That is not just true for EU trade but for all trade everywhere.

“Friisberg can service cross-border search brilliantly, precisely because we have a presence in both a client’s home country and in their other international markets too. Insights into how business is done and where to find the best executives in a globalised economy is increasingly important and why our clients come to us.”
